Arthropods are animals without backbones or internal skeletons. Instead, they have exoskeletons, that is, external skeletons, bodies that are segmented, and jointed appendages. In fact, the word arthropod means "jointed leg."
Among this group of animals are:
• Insects
• Arachnids (Spiders)
• Crustaceans (Crabs, Lobsters, Crayfish)
They are incredibly divergent in form and ecological function, and biologists have identified over a million species -- more than 80% of all identified living animal species.
Arthropods photographed by me, are known as MacArthropods ... heretofore, recognized thus by ONLY ONE BIOLOGIST IN THE WORLD!
That would be ... me.
