Despite the CIA's corroboration of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice's September 16th Face the Nation account of the Benghazi attacks, Republicans like John McCain keep crying "foul!"

 

 

 

 

CBS News and other media also corroborate Rice's account having obtained the CIA talking points stated by Rice. "CBS News' Margaret Brennan says the talking points, which were also given to members of the House intelligence committee, make no reference to terrorism being a likely factor in the assault …" .

Interesting; when another Rice, Condoleezza, then Bush Administration National Security Advisor, helped lie us into the Iraq war claiming Saddam had "nuclear" weapons, McCain gave her a pass. Unlike his threat to block a Susan Rice nomination for an Obama Administration Secretary of State position, when Condoleezza Rice was Bush's nominee for Secretary of State, McCain, instead of blocking … gushed:

"Condoleezza Rice is a great American success story. This is what America is all about. A young woman who grew up in a segregated part of America where Americans were not treated equally, to rise to the position of secretary of state. We should have been celebrating, I believe, this remarkable American success story." McCain argued that Condoleezza Rice was qualified to be the next secretary of state, even though she testified that there were WMDs in Iraq.

He added ... “So I wonder why we are starting this new Congress with a protracted debate about a foregone conclusion ... I can only conclude we are doing this for no other reason than lingering bitterness at the outcome of the elections ... . We all have varying policy views, but the President (Bush), in my view, has a clear right to put in place the team he believed would serve him best.” (The Senate floor)
